EXPANSION AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE LLOBREGAT DRINKING WATER TREATMENT PLANT
The works were developed with one main project and two complementary projects.
– Increase of the maximum treatment flow from 3 m3/s to 4 m3/s.
– Maximum treatment flow by reversible electrodialysis (EDR): 2.4 m3/s.
– Flow recovery efficiency
– Trihalomethane (THM) removal efficiency
– Salt removal efficiency (conductivity): 65-85%.
– Average volume of salts removed by the EDR process: 154 T/day.
– Execution of 4 new sand filters. Total of 4 + 8 = 12 filters.
– Execution of 5 new granular activated carbon filters. Total of 5 + 10 filters.
– Execution of the EDR pumping station with a 6,000 m2 reservoir and 12 pumps
– Execution of a drinking water treatment plant using reversible electrodialysis (EDR) consisting of 9 modules and 576 stacks (currently the largest in the world).
– Execution of a remineralization area with 2 lime saturators with a maximum flow of 200 m3/h, lime and CO2 dosers and a mixing chamber.
